As a result of a motor vehicle accident in 1994, she became keenly aware of the importance of internal balance and harmony. It was through the healing arts of Massage, and Body-Mind awareness practices such as Yoga, Tai Chi, and Qigong that began her life-long spiritual journey of waking up.
In 1998, she received her license in Massage Therapy and continues to offer services at her private practice in downtown Asheville.
In 2000, she was certified as a yoga instructor through Frog Pond Yoga in Massachusetts and Swami Vivekananda Yoga Ashram in Bangalore, India, as well as being graced to sit at the feet of her Guru, Dr. VS Rao for over 9 years before he took MahaSamadhi (left his body].
In 2012, she was certified to teach Primordial Qigong for Enlightened Love through her teacher Michael Winn in Asheville, NC.
In 2021, she completed a 300-hour teacher training in Kaiut yoga with founder Francisco Kaiut, a bio-mechanical yoga practice designed to serve the modern body and the modern mind. This format is intended to increase freedom of movement, and is deeply influenced by his professional practice as a chiropractor and his education in cranial-sacral and polarity therapies, deep tissue massage, and hatha yoga. #yogaforeveryone #yogapratodomundo.
When Danielle is not practicing massage or teaching Yoga and/or Qigong, she enjoys sharing the joys of life with her husband, Mars, nature hikes, mermaiding, swimming, rock climbing, ecstatic dance, practicing yoga, painting, studying harmonium/mantra immersion classes to strengthen her spiritual devotional practice, contact-improv, mountain biking, volunteering at Asheville Community Theater, traveling, writing/journaling, laughing, cooking, connecting with family and friends, being in Silence, resting, Being, and enjoying the Blue Ridge Mountains of NC.
